The Modern Treatment for Many Foot Ailments and Skin Lesions
Do you have warts or moles that are annoying or worrisome? If so, you
may be a candidate for Laser surgery. Since 1983, the physicians and
podiatrists of our office have been utilizing Laser surgery to reduce the
pain, risk, and recovery time of many surgical procedures that
traditionally have been difficult to treat with conventional methods. Now,
many of these benefits are available to our patients with the use of
Laser. Laser surgery is the modern, effective choice for the treatment of
many foot and skin problems. Laser surgery has proven itself especially
useful in treating the following:
-
Ingrown, deformed and fungus toenails
-
Warts from head to toe including plantar warts
-
Unwanted skin defects including
unsightly and annoying moles
-
Surgical or traumatic adhesions
-
Morton's neuroma and ganglions

Modern Treatment
The Laser is one of the most advanced instruments used in modern
medicine Today. Now with a beam of light, many skin problems located on
all parts of the body can be easily corrected. In the hands of a qualified
physician or podiatrist, this light beam replaces the scalpel as a precise
tool which cuts only defective or diseased tissue.
The CO2 Laser is an extremely accurate instrument. The width and the
length of a Laser beam can be confined to within 1 mm (a pencil point) to
select and vaporize only the trouble-causing abnormal cells. The doctor
precisely controls the laser to penetrate only as deep as required. At
times, penetration can be controlled to be no greater than the depth of
the skin of a tomato. As a result, unwanted tissue can be removed without
damaging surrounding healthy areas. Since there is less trauma, there is
less pain and faster healing!
Unlike an x-ray, there is no danger of radiation exposure during
Laser surgery.
Walk In..............Walk Out ! Now, thanks to the Laser, many
dermatologic and podiatric surgical
procedures which used to be performed in the hospital can be performed
right in our office. In fact, most podiatric patients are able to
comfortably walk out just minutes after having laser surgery.

Cost Effective Although Laser equipment is quite
expensive, surgical fees are
usually the same as those for traditional methods of treatment. In fact,
Laser surgery is often less expensive because it shortens convalescence,
reduces time off from work, and some times eliminates the need for repeat
procedures or follow up visits. Insurance companies recognize the
benefits of Laser surgery and cover most Laser procedures.
